Marquette, MI – January 20, 2019 – This afternoon our local college hockey team, the Northern Michigan University Wildcats, joined us at Lions Field Ice Rink in Marquette Township for a “Catch the Vision” NMU Hockey experience!

Thank you Northern Michigan University Wildcats Hockey Team for playing today.

The team split up for some four-on-four intersquad hockey action on the outdoor ice rink while the community came out to watch the game and enjoy some hot cocoa! Both sides fought hard and had fun challenging each other on the ice, making for a great unique game the community could enjoy.

It was a frigid afternoon in the township, but that didn’t stop people from coming out, including a few little “future NMU Hockey players”. Kids brought their jerseys and hockey sticks for the team to sign and told their local stars of their own aspirations to be on the NMU Hockey Team one day!

If you missed this opportunity to join us for some hockey fun, you’ve got another chance coming up next Sunday, January 27th! The Marquette Redmen and Marquette Mutineers will take the ice to battle it out at Lions Field in Marquette Township! Come out and catch the game and bring your Marquette team apparel for a chance to get it signed, or grab a photo with your favorite players! The township will once again have free hot chocolate to warm you up while you enjoy some family-friendly hockey fun starting at 1pm on Sunday.
