MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette Township has been recognized for its work to foster entrepreneurial growth and economic development in a study by researchers at the University of Michigan.
The study, conducted by iLabs, the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Center for Innovation Research, recognized Marquette Charter Township as a five-star community along with 53 other communities across the state.
Marquette Township was the only Upper Michigan community to earn the five-star rating. Two other U.P. cities, Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie earned a four-star rating.
The eCities research surveyed 114 communities from 40 counties in Michigan that are home to 34 percent of Michigan residents and nearly half of its college graduates.
