Honor Credit Union’s Pantry PowerUP

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – December 9, 2025 – This holiday season, Honor Credit Union is continuing its tradition of giving back by supporting organizations that make a difference in their communities every day. Through its fifth annual Pantry PowerUP initiative, Honor donated $6,000 to help stock the shelves of three Marquette County food pantries:

The Salvation Army – Marquette
St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store – Gwinn
St. Vincent de Paul Society Store – Ishpeming

As families prepare to gather around the table this holiday season, Honor wants to help its members and neighbors have access to the food and resources they need. Each donation helps local pantries provide meals, household essentials, and hope to those facing food insecurity.

“At Honor, we believe the holidays are about coming together as a community and supporting one another,” said Jamie Armatti, Marquette County food pantries, Regional Manager at Honor Credit Union. “These donations are a small way for us to give back to the people and families who make the U.P. such a special place to call home.”

Cari Detmers, Director of Development at The Salvation Army, added, “We have seen a significant increase in requests for services. Our pantries and feeding programs have grown by over 25%. What we are also witnessing is an incredible community responding to the need. We are grateful for those helping us serve our neighbors in need.”

As a not-for-profit credit union, Honor’s mission goes beyond banking. This holiday season, its Pantry PowerUP initiative reflects that commitment by investing in Michigan communities and spreading hope where it’s needed most.
