March 12, 2025 – Marquette – Marquette Charter Township is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Building and Grounds Caretaker in our Department of Public Works. The position is responsible for a full range of building and grounds activities including building maintenance and/or grounds keeping of the Township Offices, Community Center, Public Works Facilities, recreation fields and community parks, pump/lift stations and other properties and buildings as directed. A full job description can be found at www.marquettetownship.org. The position requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with previous experience in building or facility maintenance. A valid State of Michigan driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record are also necessary. Additional requirements can be found in the job description mentioned above. The starting compensation ranges from $19.05 to $20.71 per hour, depending on qualifications, with annual COLA adjustments and a progression schedule. A comprehensive benefits package is also offered. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours required for facility rental lockups and rubbish days.
