Marquette, MI – August 10, 2018 – Honor Credit Union just wrapped up their 2018 Community Picnic. Each year, all three local branches, Negaunee, Marquette, and Gwinn, turn on the grill and serve up hot dogs & brats for their communities! Whether you’re a member or not, there is always free food, chances to win prizes, and this year, Honor was raising money for the UPAWS Spay & Neuter Program.
Major Discount and Bruce Whitehead got a chance to chat with Negaunee Branch Manager, Shari Koski, to hear about today’s events and what’s next for Honor Credit Union. Shari is a very familiar face in Negaunee with 16 years at the Credit Union. To give the community the best chance of getting their questions answered, CEO Ron Lauren, Market Manager Jenn Beckman, and Mortgage & Loan Expert Adam Carpenter were also on site for the Community Picnic.
After inviting the community to come out to Honor, Shari took a moment to highlight Honor’s next event, Shred Day! Honor Credit Union’s Annual Shred Day is coming up Saturday, September 22nd in Negaunee. As usual, the branch will be recycling personal paper documents that you would usually shred at home, but this year they’ve introduced something new as well. Partnering with Goodwill and Comprenew this year, Honor will also be accepting electronics for recycling, so bring your old CD players, iPods, or gaming consoles too!
And from Gwinn, Major Discount had a talk with Jamie about the August 22nd Blood Drive. Drop by around lunch time, 11:30 – 1:30 at Honor Gwinn so you can donate at the Blood Mobile. The drive is looking all blood types. To set up your time, give Honor Credit Union a call, donate, and enter to win the raffle prizes! Help save lives by making your appointment to donate, call (906) 346-4633.In Marquette the Major talked more with Adele about the UPAWS Spay & Neuter Program Fundraiser. When you stop by the Marquette Branch, donate to the program and put a paw or bone up on the wall with your name on it! When you support the fundraiser, you’ll be entered to win a pet care gift basket with all sorts of goodies including a $100 gift certificate to Mare-z-Doats. Honor Credit Union will also be matching up to $1,000 in donations.
