Marquette Township is excited to announce the opening of the new Marquette Fire Hall on the corner of Commerce and Venture Dr. behind the Westwood Mall.
Here’s Randy Girard on the layout and future plans of the Fire facilities.
It has been in discussion and planning stages for 15 years.
TheĀ Fire Hall will have expanded service availability and a training area, with lots of room for projected future growth over the next 25 years.
The last of the furnishings will arrive next week and one big move is planned for the 10th and 11th of August.
It is being built in tandem with the new Township Hall and Community Center building, which sits kitty-corner on Commerce Dr.
Both projects cost approximately $4 million, and the fire hall will be paid off in the next 8-9 years. It is being paid for completely by the board, not by residents, taxes or millage.
The old fire hall at 660 S Vandenboom Rd. will now be used for Public Works, so their equipment and storage will be all under one roof.
