(Marquette Township, Michigan) – August 17, 2013 – “Marquette Township – A Great Place to Live, Work, and Play! Welcome to a Marquette Charter Township Community Event. ” That’s the sign on the pavilion declares when you enter Lions Field common area. And Marquette Township Community Day at Lions Field this last Saturday was everything promised by those words and more.
Live music, ball games, beautiful weather, dollar ice cream cones benefiting local organization, hot dogs, brats, a community beer tent, and multiple contests from 50/50 raffles to a country showdown singing contest to a Michigan Sales John Deere Tractor Giveaway were all part of the fun.
A local township resident from Allen Street, Jeri Mattson of Marquette Township, won a $2000.00 riding tractor from Michigan Sales & Equipment & Great Lakes Radio. He won the John Deere Tractor by Entering at SIR Federal Credit Union, and then he came to the event to enjoy the Music, ball games and hot dogs put on the grill by the Marquette Township Fire Department.
