Marquette Township – August 16, 2013 – Hundreds of people with gather at Lions Field tomorrow. The field was first started by the Lions Club which has since been closed because members moved or retired from the club. The Lions Club is seeking a revival because the Township of Marquette has become the fastest growing township in the State of Michigan. There’s a bundle of business activities happening in our township. Infact, it is an excellent township to do business in. So Come to Community Days and enjoy the field.
Our township firemen will be cooking and bbq-ing. Various Lions club members will be manning a Beer tent from 11am till 10pm. Have a cold one as you watch live music and softball. Numerous teams of softball players will be battling it out on the field starting at 8:30am. Michigan Sales John Deere will be giving away a John Deere mower worth $2,000. Everyone whom attend the Texaco Country Showdown from 2 till 5 will be registered to win the tractor.
The local township band reveal will perform from 7 till 10 on the tennis court stage at Lions Field.
