Santa poses with the Honor Credit Union team on the big stage at the Marquette Township Catch the Christmas Spirit Tree Lighting

Marquette, MI  –  December 9, 2015  –  Santa Claus came to the township last night to light up the township Christmas tree in front of the Westwood Mall and the community came out in record numbers to take part in the fun.
The Grinch stole the airwaves at Great Lakes Radio and then slunk away to cause trouble at Biggby Coffee. He even showed up at the tree lighting ceremony while the Marquette Redmen Chorale was singing, but the Sheriff’s department was there to stop him and save Christmas for the township!
MTBA Chairman Frank Stabile welcomed the community to the event and spoke about the township and how the MTBA supports township businesses and community events like the Catch the Christmas Spirit Tree Lighting event. Several businesses helped to make this event a success.
Many thanks to Super One Foods for providing Christmas cookies for the kids, Biggby Coffee for bringing in their delicious coffee for the grownups, and Honor Credit Union who brought over 300 bags of popcorn for the crowd. Great Lakes Radio provided the big stage and Christmas music from the Gift 106.1 FM, their Christmas music station.
The continued support of organizations, businesses, and the community truly make Marquette Township a great place to live, work, and play.
