Marquette Township, MI – December 2, 2014 – The Marquette Township Catch the Christmas Spirit Tree Lighting was a huge success! The MTBA co-sponsored the event as part of the “Catch the Vision” program conducted by the Marquette Township Special Events Committee. Kids and their families listened to the Marquette Redmen Chorale sing Christmas Carols, waiting for Santa Clause to show up.
The Grinch did show up and was spotted slinking around Applebee’s and the big stage, but the Marquette County Sheriff Department arrested him and saved Christmas for Marquette Township. Santa Claus arrived on the township fire truck and threw the big switch to light the resident-donated, 30-foot high, Marquette Township Christmas tree!
