Attend the DDA Expansion Plans Meeting to Learn About Changes Coming to the Township

The current and proposed boundaries for the DDA plans.

Marquette Township, MI – February 12, 2018 – The Marquette Downtown Development Authority hosted a Business After Hours to bring local businesses together to discuss future expansion in the Marquette area.
Marquette Township Business Association President, Frank Stabile, joined the meeting this afternoon and is in support of DDA’s expansion and growth plan.
The meeting offered attendees the chance to raise concerns and have questions answered about the upcoming construction plans for 2019 and 2021.
Thursday, February 15th will serve as a second chance to hear about the plans. Lunch will be served Thursday at noon and dinner at 6:30pm for any township residents and business professionals.  The meeting will cover ideas for better street lighting, new roundabouts, an under pass, and a bike and pedestrian safety lane. Changes will connect bikes and pedestrians from Pizza Hut in Marquette to the Marquette Township Business community by the Westwood Mall.
The funding for the expansion plans is coming along nicely. The DDA will cover the $250,000 of lighting at the roundabouts and has already raised all but $25,000 of the projects funding.
A special thanks to Jet’s Pizza for all the fresh served meals including healthy salads and tasty treats!
